Marion Philadelphia - EdD - Clinical Business Communication

Marion Philadelphia is Professor of Clinical Business Communication and Academic Director of the John H. Mitchell Business of Cinematic Arts Program. Prior to that she chaired the Marshall Department of Business Communication for seven years. She earned her doctorate degree in educational leadership and psychology from USC, and her master's degree in English and American literature, journalism and mass communication from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Marion has a background in in public relations, journalism, and marketing for the entertainment industry. Before joining Marshall, she was involved in the creative development of large-scale international themed entertainment projects. She has edited and translated many works of non-fiction, contributed to Cal Tech's Einstein Papers Project, and is a published author. Originally from Germany, she is particularly interested in intercultural business communication and has expertise in addressing the needs of international, transfer and minority students. Other areas of interest include pedagogy, instructional technology, online learning, as well as professional development for faculty. She has taught online/hybrid classes for more than a decade.
