Win Shih - EdD, MSBA, MSLIS - Library Faculty

Win Shih is the Director of Integrated Library Systems at University of Southern California Libraries. His professional growth has traversed several library functional areas. Win started as a business reference librarian at Saint Louis University and performed reference service, collection development, faculty liaison, and library instruction. Later he was promoted to the Assistant University Librarian of Library Automation and led an IT team in managing the library's website, multiple library systems, and desktop support. At the Health Sciences Library of the University of Colorado, Win oversaw the Technical Services as well as the IT division and developed a full understanding of the operation in acquisition, cataloging, authority control, and serials management. At the University of Albany, Win served as the Head of Library Systems and oversaw library IT operations.

Dr. Shih holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California.  His dissertation studies the practice of student learning outcomes assessment at Master of Library and Information Study programs accredited by the American Library Association.  Win received both his MS of Library and Information Sciences and MS of Business Administration from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. Win has presented at various international, national, and regional conferences, including the IFLA Conference, International Evidence Based Librarianship Conference, American Library Association meetings, and Library & Information Technology Association National Forums (See https://works.bepress.com/win_shih/ for details). Not only has Win presented at the American Library Association, he is also actively involved in the accreditation process.  Win is a fellow of 2009 Frye Leadership Institute.
